RDOS Winter Recreation Guide available online

The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen (RDOS) has released the Regional Recreation Guide for the winter season, January to March 2024. The guide features a wide range of events and programs in the RDOS, including fitness, drop-in, art, dance, Regional Valentine’s Day and Family Day events, as well as the Similkameen Ice Rink schedule. Registration opened Thursday, December 7, 2023.

Residents can create an account online using the RDOS Recreation Software to register for programs and to book sports courts, parks and facilities.

Winter is the season to enjoy the snow and get outdoors. The RDOS has many options to help you and your family stay active, including snowshoe rentals. Email  or call 250-490-4114, ext. 3, to reserve.

EOC Update: RDOS monitoring storm system Monday, December 4, 2023, 2:00 pm

INFORMATION RELEASE

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen Emergency Operations Centre (RDOS EOC) is actively monitoring weather updates for the predicted storm system expected to make landfall later today (Monday, December 4, 2023).

Residents and visitors are reminded to stay informed on changing weather and road conditions. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued warnings for heavy rainfall and freezing rain for the Coquihalla and Highway 3, west of Eastgate in Electoral Area “H”.

The River Forecast Centre has issued a High Streamflow Advisory for the Similkameen region. Residents and visitors are reminded to exercise caution around waterways. For more information about Flood Advisories and Warnings, please visit the River Forecast Centre website.
