Term: Full Time (37.5 hours per week) Three (3) month term with opportunity to extend

Overview of Position
USIB is embarking on a document management initiative that would ensure the safety and security of all USIB materials by scanning them to a permanent digital environment. Documents may include but are not limited to reports, maps, legal agreements, and letters.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sorting and organizing of files, prioritizing highest importance, and subjugating materials into appropriate folders.
- Review and organization of archival paper documents and reports.
- Developing database for file management.
- Scanning and uploading files to secure cloud system.
- Working with IT, as necessary to ensure proper indexing of digitized records.
- Shredding materials that have been identified as not requiring a paper copy.
- Filing and indexing permanent retention paper copies for permanent long-term storage.
- Working in the Field and performing the Field Technician duties from time to time and as directed by the Natural Resources Director.
- Participates in relevant training and workshops identified by the Natural Resources Team to enhance program services.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary, and as directed by the Natural Resources, Director.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working outdoors in remote locations and be physically fit, an asset.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and enjoy learning.
- Proficient computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and data entry skills.
- A valid driver’s license and acceptable driver’s abstract.
- Strong awareness of health and safety issues and a safety conscious attitude.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Steel toe work boots are required.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum education Grade 10 and must be at least 18 years of age.
Preference will be given to candidates that have:
- Previous experience with Records or Archives Management
- Aboriginal ancestry
