About:

The Youth Centre provides a variety of programs and services for the Youth in our community such as educational support, recreational activities, assistance in career goals and accessing mental and physical health resources. The Youth Centre’s focus is to create an environment where the youth are empowered to make decisions for their future, explore options for education and careers while experiencing fun in healthy ways. We encourage the youth to be community leaders and give back to the members. The Youth Centre partners with community members and neighboring organizations in connecting with Syilx arts, language, land knowledge and culture.

Meet our Youth Program Coordinator, Lindsay Fairweather

Lindsay Fairweather was raised in Hedley and currently resides in Keremeos. She has her Community Support Worker diploma, with a focus on addiction care and treatment and trauma informed care. She is an active volunteer in her community and a proud Aunty of many children and youth. Her approach with working with youth is gentle, non-judgmental  and empathetic. She spends most of her free time in the mountains, finding new trails and connecting with the Similkameen river. As a Youth Program Facilitator, it is Lindsay’s goal to empower our teens, helping them find their confidence, passion and voice in a safe and fun environment.
