Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the electors of the Upper Similkameen Indian Band will be held at the Upper Similkameen Indian Band Administration Offices on Friday 14th day of . January 2022, beginning at 4 pm until 7 pm and lasting at least three hours, for the purpose of nominating candidates for the positions of Chief and Councillors for the Upper Similkameen Indian Band, for the next term.
The election will be held in the Upper Similkameen Indian Band Administration Offices located at the Snaza’ ist Visitor Centre, 161 Snaza’ist Street Hedley, BC, on Friday 25th day of February 2022. All Upper Similkameen Indian Band members 18 years or older are eligible to vote, any elector may vote by mail-in ballot.
Please note that any voter may nominate candidates by using a mail-in nomination form. You can either deliver or mail in a written nomination and a completed, signed and witnessed voter declaration fom1 to the Electoral Officer before the time set for the nomination meeting OR you may nominate candidates orally at the nomination meeting. Mailed nominations not received by the Electoral Officer before the time set for nomination meeting are void. Also, note that any voter may vote by mail-in ballot.

Chief and Council would like to formally announce the resignation of Lesli Lorincz, Home Care and Community Health Nurse Supervisor, effective January 28th, 2022.
We are all very appreciative of all the hard work and dedication Lesli has demonstrated over the past 6.5 years, and we want to wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
Thank you Lesli, you will be missed!
For those who receive water jugs from the band office a reminder that we will be closed for the Holidays starting Friday, December 17th, 2021, and will reopen on Monday, January 3rd, 2022, if you require water for this time, please contact Patricia at the office 250-292-8733 by 12 pm Thursday, December 16th, 2021, to make arrangements for pick-up.
You can now pick up your pass any time between 9 am and 3 pm seven days a week.
Passes can only be collected in person at the resort due to the requirement that a waiver is signed. Anyone under 19 needs a guardian to sign their waiver. Not necessarily parents, but an adult willing to sign for them when picking up their season pass.
Masks will be mandatory to both pick-up passes and ride the lifts.
There is a maximum of one family group of up to six people or 1 individual in the season pass office at a time so there may be some waiting outside.
